It seems the bureaucrats are at it again trying their hardest to destroy our freedom and force more motorists off the road by scrapping the SVA tests and replacing it with something new called an IVA. This particular proposed legislation would rock the kitcar word. "Enquiries have shown that the IVA has been looked at by VOSA and that there are currently some ‘showstoppers’ that would effectively stop home building, or modifying, as most cars would be unable to comply. For instance, the IVA would require ALL vehicles to be fitted with ABS and that the system should be certified, by the manufacturer, as being suitable for its application!"
Head over to the Association of Car Enthusiasts for the full story. They've also posted an update where they've managed to get a hold of some IVA docs |

Sad news for the kitcar industry - Luego was a bright new flame offering some good value kit IMHO. They always had a strong presence at the shows and will be missed. Luego could not go down the route of decreasing the product quality like some of the other manufacturers! We have attempted to hang in there for as long we could however things did not change. We have done our best to full fill any orders however there may a few that have not been totally full filled. If these are on a credit card payment please contact your credit card company. |

Want a closer look at a Tiger Avon? Well check out the video of a recent trip I had to Chester Motosports. It details a bike powered part build Avon, which maybe of some use to budding Avon builders out there. This one's in RealVideo format, so head over to www.real.com to download a player if you don't have one... alternatively if you bug me enough I may convert it to something else. You will find the video clip at http://www.kitcarcentral.co.uk/video/chester-avon.rm It's a rather whopping 5.5Mb, but is 3 mins long! |
